More Catching Up

Here's some of the quilts from January. Just a little behind on my posts. This sweet baby quilt is Mary C's. The allover swirl seemed to work out just right.

This is also Mary C's quilt. A Roxanne Carter pattern you can find here. It is made with snowman fabric on her website. Super cute!

Julia the dentist made this lavender lovely. All her quilts have purple & a touch of silver lame'. She is a very gentle dentist if you need one.

I used the Bubbles panto by  Lorien Quilting on Leslie's strippy quilt. The black & white Rosetta Stone King Tut thread worked out great.

This little guy is a regular visitor now. The feeder is half empty!

Going to Nanaland later this week to the warm sunshine & to fill my cup. Daniel will be 10 months old while I'm there. Where does the time go? Andrew asked recently if I was going to "get on a Boeing & be at his house when he woke up in the morning?" Little Mister is tugging at this Nana's heart strings!

I'll try & post while I'm there. More quilts to come soon too.

Surrounded by Love

My friend Diane has made 3 of this particular quilt. This one she is giving to her church to auction off for their Relay For Life team. I called it Surrounded By Love because of all the heart quilting & hope the person who gets it will feel the love too!

This is a new heart vine I tried.
Look what showed up earlier this week in my mail box. My Secret Pal knows my favorite quilt shop, Aunt Mary's .  I see some "retail therapy" in the near future. Thank you Secret Pal! I took this picture in the flowerbed with my almost ready to bloom snowbells.

I still have more quilt pictures to post. Things are slowing down here, so hopefully soon.

My Dad My Hero

Dad was the Hero in our family. Our love of the outdoors comes from the many hikes & camping trips we went on. And all those hours he spent with us patiently teaching us to catch that elusive trout. He carried Mom  upstairs to bed when she was too sick to walk. Now that's love.
Dad passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday. He said for many years "I have Parkinson's, it doesn't have me." He gave it all he had & then some.
Now he & Mom are together again and can pick up where they left off 34 years ago.

Here he is in May at his 80th birthday celebration. That precious smile that we all loved so much.

It is hard to say goodbye but a relief to know he's not in pain anymore. Don't forget to tell the special people in your life how much you love them. Time isn't always on your side.

Love, Sharon

Catching Up

Whew! Made it back sooner than I thought I would. This is Wilma's quilt for her grandaughter. Girly girl quilts are my favorite to quilt.

The flip flop squares look pretty plain unless you take a close up look.

The back reveals the flowers that were quilted in each block.

Cindy made this great little quilt using Laurel Birch fabrics. If you click on this one you can see the quilting better. I think I finished this one on the 23rd of December.

This little beauty was made by Lisanne. Her 2nd quilt! She's had the loving help of her grandmother along the way. It's a baby quilt for a friend. Lucky friend!

Even a scalloped border. Fun to quilt too.
There's the latest wrap up for me. More pictures on the camera to show soon too.

I've been shopping in my stash for a new project. Jenny over at Sew Kind of Wonderful is having a Quilt Along using her Quick Curve Ruler. She even has videos on using the ruler & her curved piecing technique.
I'm taking the top I made to CIQ tonight & will blog about it soon.

Enjoy the sunshine today. I'm hoping for some beach time.
