She Loves Purple

Julia is rocking the purple again with this great quilt. It's always fun to see what she comes up with next. She also is a supporter of American Hero Quilts. Her other day job is here.

I did lots of leaves on this one. Plus a little Swirly Girly.

This is the back of the border. Fun look with minimal marking.

Next up will be "This & That".
What's going on in your corner of the world?
Be back soon.

A Nod to Modern

A new customer, Deane, made this lovely quilt. I don't see many modern quilts so it was fun working with her on which quilting designs would complement this quilt.

Diagonal lines & framing the rectangles are what we decided on in the end.

Looks like we are in for another toasty weekend. Going to enjoy it while it lasts.
There's always time for a walk on the beach.

Next up "She Loves Purple".
Be back soon.

Mama's Trip

This stunning Trip Around the World was made by one of the nuns at Quiet Light Candles
All  hand pieced 1 1/2" finished squares! It is beyond fabulous! I quilted Interlocking Daisies on it.

I love the colors!

I have more quilts to show you.
Enjoying cooler weather today. Heard the heat is back this weekend.
What a summer we've had here in the Northwest!
Lots of this.

Be back soon.

The Dorothy Quilts

Today's quilts were all made by Dorothy. She's a CIQ member & will be one of the featured quilters at our quilt show in the Spring.
First up is a Roxanne Carter quilt pattern(sorry I forgot the name). I tried a couple new techniques I've been working on.

Lori Kennedy over at In Box Jaunt has some really great tutorials.
You can find the swirling stars HERE.

There was a lot of background in the middle of this quilt. What to do? I'm calling this "divide & conquer". Sometimes those big spaces just need to be smaller. I used some of Angela Walter's fun swirls. Check out her website for great videos.

Love this appliqué quilt.

Lots of room for some swirly girly quilting.

And finally this flag. Simple double lines to make it wave.

Are you enjoying the warm days we are having? I've been staining the deck railings & privacy wall at our house. Being up on the extension ladder is not my thing.

Here's a sunset picture form last week.

I'll be back soon with more quilts.
